September Block

I finished up September's block today....As you can see, I've done the heart and stars instead of the one with the three stars...I don't think it really matters as they're the same size....

I have the smaller star and heart blocks ready to applique so I'll take them on my upcoming trip....I've decided to copy Susan and do a nativity instead of the post block...it won't have very much embroidery so I should have that one finished before the end of October..
Happy Stitching,

Progress

I have been working away at the appliqué. Some still  need the embroidery done and some are for future months. I prepped all the smaller appliques at the same time and have been stitching them as time permits.  I have a few more appliqué blocks to prep before I start cutting squares from the left over fabrics. My plan is to complete the blocks to date over the next few weeks.
Initially I was not sure how my fabrics would look but now I have some done I am very pleased with them. The starter for me was a pack of 5 fabrics I won last Christmas.

September Stars and Hearts....

This months block is sweet with it's extra block of stars at the top and the little hearts and holly underneath.....  Family and Friends

I'm enjoying seeing the blocks together on my display wall.....

So great seeing the different versions of this quilt - lovely work from everyone....

August blocks

Suddenly we are half way through September!
So here are my August blocks —
As you can see I had a major fail with doing feather stitch on the gingerbread man and opted for some chain stitch instead!
I've made a good little start on this month's blocks so maybe I'll have it completed to share This Month :-)
Happy sewing everyone
Raewyn.

Progress August September

Last Sunday/Monday I managed to complete the machine applique on both blocks.

Now I can trace the stitchery parts ready for those mini moments when I can stitch.

I have a new block keeper.

Catching Up

I'm all caught up (I don't think that is very good grammar) but am happy they are complete. Lots of family issues at the moment with mum moving into aged care and not settling. It's nice to have something else to concentrate on.

Susan: August Block Finished

I finally got the last of the embroidery done, and the blocks sewn together, yesterday. I did, in fact, do most of the remaining stitching on my road trip. Fiona, you asked about the trip. I went about 205 miles south of me, to Atlanta, Georgia, (which is going to have lots more of the wind and rain from Hurricane Irma than I will get!) for a special purpose, and didn't get to play in the local quilt shop in Marietta, where we stayed, because the hours they were open interfered with why I was there. Still, I stitched! Yay, me! Now I'm not behind ... for at least a few weeks. LOL

September - Susan Oh 2 Sew

I know its early in the month - but I have a block to share - it IS my September block - it will go in the  middle of the top row - instead of the "Family/Hearts" block.

This quilt will be for my eldest daughter who likes to remember the reason for the season . . .so it had a bit of a re-design...like a few more of the blocks to come.

I hope everyone is enjoying their stitching - we would love to see some more posts...it doesn't matter if you are behind - just show us what you ahev done.  There are NO Quilt Police on this beat.

Just In Time

As you might have guessed, I didn't do anything on this quilt in July, but I have been busy stitching in August....
This is the stitchery I did to replace the
Pudding, so July's block is done.

And here's August. I think I left one of the
candy canes out.
I realize it is most likely September in
Australia, but here in the U.S. it
is still August....In Alabama it is the 31st
at 3:30pm.
I have loved seeing what everyone is
doing and the colors and fabrics
being used...
I have been working on the Penny candle
mat and that will be my May
project when it is done.....
