Woo Hoo..... Just made it!!!!

Oh Gee I only just made the deadline with a few hours to spare. Here 'tis.........

Pictured alongside some yummy Girls Day in the Country purchases, lovely Lynette Anderson fabrics. I made the pincushion from leftover fabrics from a BOM of Lynettes, it's always great to use up small pieces of fabrics in the stash.........

March done

With only a few hours to spare I'm done.

Spotted those tiny bottons at my local dealer.
They just had to go in the jar.

Happy Easter.

Finished Just in Time!

Hello!

I did it! Chooky you can mark me down for this month. I made it with a day to spare!  :)

It helped that I already had some 1-1/2" Pam Kitty Morning squares leftover from my "My Favorite Things" quilt. It went together pretty quickly.

I embroidered the sides in pink perle cotton and stuffed it with crushed walnut shells. The pins are two that a friend of mine gave me last year.

I had extra time today after I finished the pin cushion, so I got a head start on next months project. Okay so I'm only a day early but I'm still early!  ;)

I traced the patterns on some muslin and backed them in fusible batting so they're ready to stitch.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!  :)

Until next time . . .

Strawberry Fields Pincushion

This afternoon I put together my little pincushion, in one of my favourite fabrics, Strawberry Fields, by Fig Tree Fabrics.
...... and the reverse side......

I'm very happy to have this month ticked off .... now to get ready for April which will be here
very soon tomorrow........ Happy stitching girls .........

Pincushion done!!!

I have finished my pincushion... actually I finished it 3 weeks ago..
It was fun to make.

Sandyn

Made it by the skin of my teeth!!

And am very pleased with it too :D

March Done....

Yay! March is done with a day to spare!:) I chose to use a solid top for the top/bottom as I did not want to go the fiddly route with those tiny squares. You can mark me off for March Chooky.

Bon Noel Wallhanging

I have just checked the next project for April, and I have already made a Bon Noel Wall hanging (just with different stitcheries), which hangs all year round in my sewing corner. Does this mean I get a pass for April Chooky? Hehe

Done!

Hi everyone,
I think I must like living on the edge as I'm finished my March project but with only a couple of days to spare.
I've made this pincushion before. It's such a cute design.

Fabrics are Beach House by Blackbird Designs for Moda. I have enough left to do the matching needlebook and case when the time comes.

These are the two bags I made last month but couldn't show you because I had made one for a beautiful friend who was a part of our group. She didn't get to make hers. She has now received it and loves it. I would have been asked a few questions to why I made two. I loved making these bags

Ta-Da...finished March

Just in the nick of time!!!....
With all the excitement of going to GDITC at Nundle last weekend, I nearly forgot to complete my pin cushion....But here it is!

Kate won this little pack of Savonnerie fabric at Nundle and very generously gave it to me.
I love this range...have had pieces of it for years but never used it (as you do) until I dragged it out to do a thread catcher and then the pincushion ......I never even knew its name!...such a coincidence!
Thanks Kate...you'll see more of it in projects to come.

I used Kris's technique of putting doll beads in ....but mine ended up a little skew whiff! and weighted on one side....OH well I guess it will be good to throw at my husband!!

I'd better check what we have to do for April...Have a lovely Easter everyone.
Lea

Yay. I have finished

I have loved making the ones. As you can see I'm a little short of pin cushions but not any more. Very cute little things. I will never run out of pins again. Thanks chooky.

pincushion and gifts

Hello everyone.
My pincushion is finished.
I love how the fabric from `My favorite Things` quilt match in with BBDs
`Flowers for Sarah Needle Case`

I was waiting till my friend Cheryl received this bag I made her from the`Red Home`
book. It was a surprise.

As you can see I made a pincushion
and a block roll for her as well using up all the fabric for this.

A closeup of the matching pincushion.
Ready now to get on with Aprils SAL project.
Thankyou Chookyblue.
Happy Stitching,
Clare.

March SAL Completed

Feels like ages since I have been blogging - I really enjoyed this little pincushion ... most of it was stitched whilst I was waiting for medical tests when I was in Brisvegas ... least it took my mind off the ordeal.  Finished it this arvo, but internet in the bush does not want to play sometimes. especially via mobile phone, but here are the photos, better late than never ...

Happy sewing everyone, have made a start on April SAL as well, got that commenced whilst at yet another medical appointment, but yippee nothing else for six months :)

SKofW quilts............

It was great to have 4 finished quilts together.........
Mine, Sandy, KateS (Suze holding it) and Janice..........
We also saw lots of the Feb Sal Bags too..............didn't get a group pic.....sorry

March SAL

Just made it in time. Loved making this cute little pincushion from Anni Downs SKOW book  Although I must say mine is a bit on the "rustic" side - not too perfectly round lol, but I love it just the same, and I am keeping it for me.

Fits in nicely with my old sewing bits and pieces
Cheryl

Stitching done for April!

This past weekend I was able to stitch the designs I am using for the April project.

Now to cut up the fabric. This is for next weekend.

Done!

It's not quite round - and it's definitely not perfect - but it's finished, and I like it. And I'll use it . I love the stitchery design - so cute and quirky and typical of Anni's designs. On to the next project!

March & a 2nd February

Well, I am loving that little threat from Chooky, that I don't complete a month I can't play along. That kind of lingers in the back of mind all the time. Keeping me on point and on target. I read March's project and thought do I need another pincushion, mmm of course LOL...and I have a birthday in March, nice cushion some good pins, perfect gift.....so I got to it, they were rather quick to stitch, I did 2 in one night, then of course they have be plonked on my desk under all the other half projects that have been waiting for a sewing machine sit in.....yes I like to hand stitch, but it's done upstairs in our house and the machine part is done downstairs - I need to schedule a day for it and this week I have - read all about it on my Blog.

Bugger, I don't know how but I missed Kris's Tip, it would have made my job easier - read my blog to find out my adventures with stuffing LOL

So Chooky, I've completed my second bag, and it's packed and ready for GDITC and you can add 2 pin cushions - love ticking of my list of To-Do's
