Done - 10.50pm

Oodles of time left.

I cut most of the fabric this morning before work, finished off the stitchery during lunch at work and then did the applique hearts and made the bag tonight.  No fancy photo shoot.

I'm pleased to say that all the fabric came from my stash. Some of it has been around for ages.  The fabric on the base is scraps from a kit for a  Santa bag from when Anni first opened "The Home Patch" down in a tiny shop in Keppel Street.  I think it was about nine years ago.

I'm sure there will be lots of these bags at Nundle next month.

Now I have to look out some fabrics for next month's project.

Cheers

Janice

Mine is now complete

I have finished mine too. Love it Love the colours too. I have put some pockets on the inside as well. Love it so much I have nearly finished the second one.   Post some more photos on willowgrovequilt.blogspot.com.au. tomorrow.  Thanks Chooky for getting me motivated.

Need a pass please

Hello!  :)

Well of course I procrastinated on the bag this month (nothing new there). I planned on getting it done today and tomorrow (I'm in the US so I still have a little more time) but it's not going to happen. My boyfriend's father has terminal cancer and has taken a turn for the worse today. I spent a lot of time with him today and will be there again tomorrow so there will be now sewing time for me. Oh well life happens and that's what the pass is for. It's my own fault for procrastinating. I did manage to get the stitching done last night so I can show you something.

I will definitely still be making the bag as it's too cute not to. Please put my one and only "pass" down for me this month Chooky. I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's bags. Thanks so much for sharing them!  :)

Until next time . . .

IM finished!!!!

Yay, Im done!!! This bag is still warm....completed with a few hours to spare...

I didnt even iron my bag, I just wanted to take pics and get them on the blog so I could have a big TICK from Chookyblue .....

I love all the different colourways everyone has been making...I pulled out Vienna Nights from the stash..turned out pretty good!

February Bag Finished

At 2.30pm today, I put the last stitch into the Tote bag for February. Yay! Tick me off the list, Chooky. Timed so well as our littlest one finishes Prep at 2.40pm.

Very happy with the result. Here it is:

We're going away this weekend so I'm tracing the pin cushion stitchery this afternoon. Really liking this SAL - getting things completed. Thanks Chooky for the organising.

Cheers

Marg

Phew!

Finished about five minutes ago - talk about cutting it fine! I'm so pleased one of the other girls chose to applique the central panel too; I love stitchery but gave up after two goes because I wasn't happy with my stitching. And I love my new bag - as well as the outside pockets, there are pockets inside too and it's so nice and roomy. It's been great to see everyone's interpretations of this pattern; what a fabulous project. Now for the next one!

Completed my February SAL

Completed my February SAL this morning at 08.30 hours.  Now the hard part trying to upload the photos ... have terrible internet connection out here, if it does not upload this time, may have to drive 29 kms to get some reception grrr

Anyhow had lots of fun making the tote bag and the stitchery, I found two little birds to place on top on the trees.

While I have been trying to upload my photos have commenced March's pincushion (well started the nine-patch for the top and bottom) and have made a thread catcher (seeing I missed January, I only joined up ;in February) (Will upload the thread catcher tomorrow when I go to work).oo

Woohoo photos uploaded :)

Front of bag.

Inside of bag, you can just make out the extra pocket I made (actually did two of them)

Quick, Quick......

I am really pushing the clock to the limit to get this piccie up before I miss the deadline.........I love this bag, although a bit of a twist on the original as I added the applique off the quilt instead of the stitchery. I hope this still qualifies, if not Chooky I'll have to use the month as my pass........

French General fabrics.....first time I've had any in my stash and they are so fine and beautiful, with lovely soft prints.......very nice........now I better check out march's project and get started so I don't need to rush.
I am really enjoying seeing everyone's versions of this lovely bag......great work girls....

A few hours to spare

I managed to get most of my bag completed on Sunday but somehow didn't have enough fabric for the lining............ mmmm not sure what happened there.

So a quick trip to my local fabric shop on Tuesday and I now have a finished bag!

Sorry about the quality of the photo, its very overcast here today.

I am loving all the different fabric's and colours that everyone is using, each bag is beautiful and unique!

Have a good day - Ann

Pretty in Pink

Finished just in time!  I just love roses...

"decisions decisions" - yes : no -  I get so frustrated trying to choose colours.

Nothing like I started with ......Later I decided to appliqué the hearts using needle turn.

I was very happy that all fabrics came from my stash.......

Just in Time...

Today was a big day in the sewing room finishing off my bag

I do feel a tad guilty for doing the blanket stitch on the machine, but it is so much quicker

I only finished after tea tonight, and so pleased I finished with a day to spare!
Its visits to this blog and seeing all the competed bags that kept me going...and of course the threat of that whip!lol!

January and February SAL

I joined you all in the SAL a bit late,  so this month I have done both January and February's projects.
Threads catchers from the Red Home book. I, like everyone, found these a bit addictive and ended up making two in each color.
I just love this bag - so nice and roomy.  All made in French General fabrics.

what you don't want to happen

I am working on my tote bag but I thought I would just point out another reason why we use that extra fabric on the back of our stitching. It isn't just to keep things firmer and hide the threads from behind - it also hides the yellow felt pen that makes its way onto your stitching when you are babysitting a 2 year old.

Luckily the yellow part doesn't show through the main stitching and the blob on the back will probably fit into the seam. Or I could wash it but it depends on how close to the deadline I get with the bag. I'm not aiming for a pass yet, I might need it later.

February SAL

Well my bag is cut out. My stitchery is approx 89% done.

Thank goodness I have two days off, (from tomorrow) the pressure is on, but I am going to get my bag completed.

Also, I want to make a thread catcher, seeing how I only joined up in February. I really want to make all the projects everyone has done.

Happy stitching

Sharon

not enough..........

This is mine. It's been finished for almost a week but I've been waiting for daylight to get some decent photos.

Oh my...It's Feb. 24th and I am just starting this month's assignment....The Bag!

Yikes...I will have to get a move on here!  I have the stitched panel traced out and I have just begun stitching.  January and February have been very hectic for me.  There is never a dull moment in my house!  Lots of up's and down's but that's okay....keeps me hopping!
Thanks to all of you who are finishing up and posting...you have no idea how encouraging it is to see your bags come together.  I have taken the plunge and changed up the colors....you will never guess what color scheme I have picked!!!  I will keep you all in suspense....stay tuned, I will post by Thursday of course!

February, done !

I'm glad I've made it !!!

This is my "Red Home" bag :
