The eleventh hour

Didn`t think I was going to make it. Was having trouble downloading my pictures. So out came the info book. Have enjoyed these busy blocks plus have all the borders done now.

Thought I`d taken a good photo of my ribbon tapemeasure but doesn`t show in this shot. Oh well at least I`ve finished and joined with the rest. Loved how the pieced blocks balanced the block.

My best friends have shoes to match their outfits. Wonder where they are going! Maybe a quilt shop for more fabric!

All together so far. Mays blocks finished. The other borders are sitting on the ironing board waiting for me to attach. I am so pleased with how the colours are coming together. Starting to think what colour to bind my quilt with!
Well must finish this as today is our 32nd Wedding Anniversary and as hubby has just come in from night shift I will go and join him in the lounge.
                                         Happy Sitching everyone,till next month.
                                                            Clare.

I am back again!!

It is a good feeling adding a strip to the quilt and seeing it all start come together! You then become eager to do more and more! Not only have I now caught up to May, but have done half of June and both July blocks! The bird and butterfly (July) blocks I did whilst I was in hospital with my son as they were smaller blocks and easier to pack in the bag!
Bye For Now

Edit Just realized that I still have the sun block to do for July block to be completed

My Progress so far...

It feels good to finally add another strip to my quilt...the first one had been lonely for quite some time! Lol! Now I've completed Jan/Feb blocks I am keen to see how the next one will look next to it! I have already completed a few other blocks so hoping that it will start coming together a bit quicker now.

Hard to get a good pic, but here it is on my design wall

Love the daisy! I have finished the 'Best Friends' block also which is another one I love...then there is the shoes...okay I just love them all!lol! The only one I am going to change is the cat block, which I will make into a dog

A few blocks on my sewing desk ready to go for tomorrow!

Hope to be back again soon!

I'm Still Here

Wow! It's been awhile since you heard from me! Life has been pretty crazy here in Michigan. I had to put my SKoW on hold until I finish some paid side projects (otherwise, no vacations or summer fun!).

On the bright side, I have my pieces cut out and should be able to dedicate myself full-time in about 3 weeks! Have to get my groove on so I'm not left out the next round! I've been reading all your posts and am still super motivated.

I told Ginger NO NEW PROJECTS until we get caught up!

Happy stitching and a safe, healthy Memorial weekend for all my American friends!

Block progress

Decided to get out my SKOW box and
get some of the next lot all of the remaining blocks ready

I might have got a little carried away!
The 4 rows represent the monthly blocks for May, June, July and August.

I have now put the last three rows back in the box
and am planning on getting the first row over the line
to meet the end of May deadline.
Running out of time fast though.

I love seeing everyone's progress, keep up the great work.

SKoW flimsy

It took from 10am - 2:30 pm today but I did it,

I got my Some Kind of Wonderful quilt top

FINISHED

now I can start a new project while I decide how to quilt it.

I'll have a 'top' thanks Chooky or Kris :)

Oops.........

Spot the difference.....

I posted up my blocks the other day.....

It's great to have this blog to see others progress.... I would not have picked up that I hadn't 'finished' my blocks if I hadn't looked at others....

.... it does look better now....

Sew Close

I have been busy quilting my last 2 quilts so
not much work has been happening with my
SKoW quilt, until yesterday.

for me 2012 is my stash busting/UFO year.

I have knocked the UFO list off and have bought
VERY LITTLE in the way of fabric so all is going to plan

BUT

I really really want to start a new project, but until I have
my SKoW top done, I can't, so yesterday I sat at my sewing
machine, with Henrycat and Little House on the Prairie dvd's
andhere is where I am up to

all my blocks are stitched and sewn into their rows,
I have 4 column sets to make and only then can I

START A NEW PROJECT :)

Old Wooden Chair

Another finished Block.....
"Old Wooden Chair"
This is definately one of my favourite blocks as
I have quite a few old wooden chairs at my house.....
On our deck with the outdoor table....
On our deck near the BBQ.....
Just inside the front door......
In the Rumpus room for my bears.....
These ones in the dining room are not
old but made from old timbers.....
I picked this one up for Miss Molly's room....
I am going to paint it off white and recover the seat...
One Day!!!!! Ha ha!
And this one is in my little sewing space.....
There's a bit of dust on it beacause I have
been enjoying my hand stitching....
I will have to dust it off and get the mini quilts
stitched for my "Sewing Block"
Stitching night tonight with the sewing girls...Yay!
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Another block and a special present

Another Block Done & Dusted
Now on to some special stitching
My dear friend that I work with is leaving and changing jobs
She loved the fabrics I used in the cushion that I recently made for my Friends In Stitching Swap Partner, so instead of making the same cushion I thought I'd use this Best Friends block and turn it into a cushion for her.  Looks something like us "Dancing"  :)

Have finished stitching my May blocks and strip.

Sewing Block - There was a lot of work in this one!

Best Friends - so adorable!

My row

and the quilt so far - I love it!

It's such a gorgeous day today here!  I will be outside stitching my June blocks soon!  Don't you just love sitting outside in the sun stitching?

WORK IN PROGRESS

Yes this is a person out there lagging way behind, but the end is in sight.
A few modifications.

My Sewing Block

I managed to get a bit of stitching finished on
my "Sewing Block" over the weekend....

I have cut out the mini quilts but have not
had a chance to sew them yet.....
I am liking how this block is turning out....
I will piece the mini quilts and then blanket stitch them on....

Until next time, Happy Stitching
Kate
